Dr Yusur Al-Nuaimi

Yusur is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist. She undertook her undergraduate training at the University of Manchester. She obtained the prestigious appointment of Academic Clinical Fellow of Dermatology at Salford Royal Hospital, an internationally renowned Dermatology Centre. Her postgraduate training was in Salford Royal and later in the South West Peninsula and became a Consultant Dermatologist in 2017. Yusur’s specialist interest is in Hair disorders and she was awarded a PhD investigating the molecular control mechanisms of the human hair cycle. Yusur one of only a few Dermatologists in the UK to have been awarded a PhD on Hair and hair cycling. Her research work led to a British Society for Investigative Dermatology Award. Yusur has peer-reviewed publications in her areas of interest and presents nationally and internationally. She is the Hair Clinical Lead for the British Hair and Nail Society and the South West Peninsula Dermatology Specialty lead for the NIHR research network.

Yusur ensures consults are patient-centred allowing patients to be actively involved in decisions about their skin treatment. She diagnoses and treats all adult skin disorders including hair loss; hair and scalp disorders; inflammatory skin conditions including lichen planus, eczema, psoriasis, acne; benign and malignant skin growths and lesions; mole and skin checks; skin surgery; minor skin procedures.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
